Caulfield Becomes The Best Player For Rugby & Northampton Athletic Club
For the Rugby & Northampton Athletic Club, Adam Caulfield is the man who led the way at English National Relay Championships. A team of 17 took part in the competition last week but Caulfield became the star of the show that day at Mansfiels.
In the under-13 boy’s event, it was Adam who had the 4th quickest time recorded and for this, the team got the eighth place. He closed the leg at 6 minutes and 47.85 seconds whereas Ben Hope made 7 minutes 20.50 seconds along with Isaac Thorman at 7 minutes 39.35 seconds and all the timings together gave R&N a total of 21 minutes and 47.70 seconds.
The team that won was Blackheath & Bromley Harriers AC who was only 56 seconds faster in the event. R&N fielded the B teams who finished 35th and C teams who finished 60th.
There was an under-13 girl’s contest too in which R&N entered two teams. In that the A team took the 19th place even in a 92-strong field. It was Molly Williams who set the recorded time at 7:54.90 and along with her were Georgina Woodward whose recorded time was 8:02.30 and Abigail Pearce who had a recorded time of 8:18.40.
In the B team were Holly Walker, Gaby Peck and Zoe Morling who got an overall 63rd position having finished with recorded time of 26:13.95. The C team consisted of Emma Barker, Fenella Downes and Amelia McMurtrie who were only 26 seconds late.
The under-15 boys event gave the R&N a top 20th position with the A team. Adam Searle had the opening leg at 6:25.35 and became the 11th quickest time in the event. Along with him, Thomas Hughes had a recorded time of 7:16.40 and Joe Musgrove’s 6:53.85 rounded off everything as the overall time came to 20:35.60. The B team got the 57th position.
